If Utah’s federal delegation gets their way, a massive ski-resort expansion will tiptoe past a full public process and plunk down a major development across pristine Utah wilderness and a vital Salt Lake County watershed, activists say. Critics are rallying now against the plan and Save Our Canyons is holding a fundraiser this Friday to help thwart SkiLink.---

Friday, you can join enviro-activists of Save Our Canyons and the Winter Wildlands Alliance in fighting the development of land* that would connect the two ski resorts together to benefit the Canadian-based Talisker Company.

This weekend, a $100 ticket will help you fight the development and get into the event featuring a cash bar, silent auction, appetizers and desserts, live music, a photographic presentation by Howie Garber and remarks by ski mountaineer Andrew McLean.

Check it out at Caterina, 2155 S. Highland Drive, Friday, Nov. 2, 7 p.m. For ticket info, visit Save Our Canyon’s event page here.

This blog has been clarified as to the scope of the development area
