Sure, your kids are acquainted with the lions, tigers and bears at Hogle Zoo. But wait until you tell ’em they can see more than just the fleshy variety of animals there during the holiday season. ZooLights, a Christmas wonderland, features an illuminated and animated assortment of holiday sculptures—flapping flamingos, bobbleheaded giraffes, galloping gazelles, the beloved Santa-in-a-sleigh-and-reindeers scene and more.

No holiday outing is complete without indulgences, and ZooLights doesn’t disappoint in this arena, either. Deep-fried s’mores and hot chocolate as well as standard park fare like burgers, hot dogs and fries are available. ZooLights entertainment includes Christmas music from Clayton Productions, McKail Seely, the Hooper Mustang Choir, Randy Bunnell and storytelling from Ginger Parkinson.

For all, young and old, who enjoy visiting the real, in-the-flesh animals at Hogle Zoo, the holiday ZooLights animal light sculptures and entertainment options sweeten the offerings. This year’s Christmas light park is also bigger, better and brighter, featuring over a million magical, twinkling lights.
