Waste Not Good Beer

I was going to let the anti-Ute comments by Max Hall go by without a word, but thanks to John Saltas’ column [“Polar Opposites,” Private Eye, Dec. 3, City Weekly], I cannot. As a University of Arizona alumna, I have attended several basketball and football games at the University of Utah and at Brigham Young University.

At the U of U, our small group has always been treated with respect (and good-natured kidding), no matter who won the game. At BYU, we were subjected to extremely rude behavior by the fans. I’m sure they will be glad to hear that I will never go to a game there again.

And one more thing: I don’t know about U of U fans, but no U of A fan who I know would waste a good beer by dumping it on a fan from the opposing team!
