Escala Valentine
If you’re looking for a last-minute spot to wine and dine on Valentine’s Day, Park City’s Escala Provisions Company (3551 N. Escala Court, EscalaLodge.Hyatt.com) is offering a special four-course prix fixe menu—in addition to Escala’s regular menu— for $69 per person, Feb. 14-16. Menu highlights include a first course of roasted-tomato bisque with crab and citrus, followed by a salad course. For entrees, customers can choose from Summit County fillet of beef with garlic whipped potatoes, Provo River trout with crab and citrus couscous, or all-natural chicken breast with baby marble potatoes. Dessert is a Pierre Country Bakery chocolate sampling for two. For reservations, phone Escala Provisions Company at 435-940-1234.

Uinta in the Can
Never content to rest on its laurels and awards, Uinta Brewing Company (1722 S. Fremont Drive, Salt Lake City, 801-467-0909) is completing a new 34,000-square-foot brewing facility, along with a state-of-the-art canning line, which is able to seal 400 cans per minute. That means canned beers from Uinta are in our near future. Beginning in early March, Uinta will be rolling out cans of Cutthroat Pale Ale, Hop Notch IPA, Organic Wyld Extra Pale Ale and Organic Baba Black Lager. For more information, visit UintaBrewing.com.

Prosecco Party @ Naked Fish
In Italy, say the folks from Adami Winery, producers of Prosecco sparkling wine, “It’s a pastime to wander from bar to bar, restaurant to restaurant, sipping Prosecco and nibbling on fresh and cooked seafood.” So, what could be more natural than pairing Prosecco with Naked Fish Japanese Bistro’s (67 W. 100 South, NakedFishBistro.com) fresh and cooked fish? That’s precisely what will happen Friday, Feb. 22, beginning with a reception and nibbles at 6 p.m. The wine-pairing dinner will feature sashimi, nigiri and yakitori paired with four Adami wines, from “bone-dry to dry to off-dry to Adami’s famed Vigneto Giardino bottling” from the appellation’s first designated Cru site. Please note that this event is not a sushi dinner, and no rolls will be served. The cost per person for dinner is $45, plus $25 for the optional wine pairings. For reservations, phone Naked Fish at 801-595-8888.
