Us vs. Them

Sixty to 70 percent of America’s voting-age population and health-care professionals (and more than 90 percent of pediatricians) want a single-payer health-care system. With such support, one would think single-payer would be openly discussed and quickly implemented. So, how is it that we are constantly told, “There is no political support for single-payer,” by politicians and the media? Because a few dozen insurance and pharmaceutical CEOs oppose it, and politicians and corporate media rely heavily on them for donations and advertising revenues, that’s why!

Is it democracy? It is for those with money and favors to throw at politicians. For the rest of us, it’s a constant battle of “us vs. them.” Real democracy will arrive in America only when everyone totally boycotts the two establishment parties.
