Turkish Food Festival

Syrupy sweet phyllo dough delicately filled with layers of gooey nuts and honey. Thinly rolled pastry stuffed with savory cheeses, minced meats, spinach and potatoes. Stuffed green peppers, eggplants or vine leaves, overflowing with spiced rice, and onions-served with a side of tangy yogurt dip. Got your stomach growling? Are you drowning in a puddle of your own drool yet? If the answer is a desperately famished grunt, then grab your appetite and head to this cultural food extravaganza. The Multicultural Arch Foundation graciously invites all hungry appetites to the event. A medley of delectables will be steaming: dolmas, baklava and borek, all delicious Turkish treats to be tasted and devoured at the Turkish Food bazaar.

Free ashure pudding will be served. Also known as “Noah’s pudding,” this desert is traditionally made with fruits, grains and nuts and is served as an offering of peace and love. Grab your fork and get gobbling. (Kris Heitkamp)
