Train was inescapable during the turn of the 21st century, when songs like “Calling All Angels,” “Drops of Jupiter,” and “Meet Virginia” put the San Francisco musicians at the top of the charts. Although formed during the glory days of post-grunge, the group found more success in the pop/rock world in 2010, when they peaked at number three on the Billboard 100 with “Hey, Soul Sister.” Train recently released the single “Angel in Blue Jeans” from their 2014 album, Bulletproof Picasso.
The Grammy Award-winning Wallflowers, co-founded by front man Jakob Dylan, will open the show. The alternative rock band released their sixth album, Glad All Over, in 2012 and is known for hit singles including “One Headlight” and “6 th Avenue Heartache.”
Both bands will perform on an outdoor stage to be set up on the street at 301 West South Temple and the east plaza of EnergySolutions Arena. To accommodate spectators, 300 West will be closed between South Temple and 100 South. No tickets are necessary.
Parking will be very limited and concertgoers are encouraged to take public transit as the Utah Transit Authority will be running additional trains. The final night of the Days of ’47 Rodeo begins at 6 p.m. at EnergySolutions Arena.
