According to creator Garry Krinsky, Toying With Science is a fun-filled exploration of physical science principles such as gravity, leverage, fulcrums and simple machines by utilizing circus arts, mime, original music and critical audience participation. More simply, Krinsky likes to explain how things work by using toys.
Commissioned and developed with the Museum of Science in Boston, the point of Toying With Science is to teach children of all ages the fundamental principles of science by explaining the step-by-step process of building small ideas into large ones. To do so, Krinsky might use stepladders in a balancing act demonstrating how exciting and interesting things can be the higher and more complex they become. As a top-hat-sporting, bow-tie-and-suspender-wearing performer, Krinsky walks that fine line between educator and entertainer like a professional tightrope walker in a traveling circus.
