Touch(ed)

In Touch(ed), we have two sisters. One is artistic and engaging but chronically troubled; the other is desperate to reconnect after years of estrangement. To this end, they escape for a week of quality time to a cabin in the woods. Emotional revelations ensue. I’m going to guess someone yells and cries, or cries for being yelled at, or maybe yells after being made to cry. You’ll have to check it out to see.

No longer content to stage beloved revivals and proven contemporary work fresh from the off-Broadway forge, Pioneer Theatre Company has dedicated itself to world-premiere productions at least once a year with its New Plays Initiative. Touch(ed) is the initial offering of this effort.

Up-and-coming young playwright Bess Wohl also wrote the comedy Cats Talk Back, which won the award for Best Overall Production at the 2004 New York City International Fringe Festival. Add an all-Equity professional cast, and PTC’s new show exhibits promise.
