Lisa Brady, owner of the Beehive Tea Room, thinks one of the best investments the city could make would be free parking garages:



No matter how much they keep telling us there is plenty of parking downtown, the perception is still that parking is difficult. “Will I have to drive around the block 15 times to find a spot? If I can’t find a spot, do I really want to spend $6 parking in a garage for a $2 coffee?

Look what Park City did: They have parking structures where you don’t have to pay. It seems like there are quite a few vacant lots in Salt Lake City where municipal garages could be built, perhaps with affordable small-business space at ground level.
