nnWere you ever led astray by your companion?
nnI was biking home with my senior companion one evening when I noticed that he was lost. Suddenly, we were on a roundabout, and the street signs had turned into signs for the Autobahn. I realized we had made a terrible mistake. We were these two elders on the Autobahn, hugging the edge, praying that no one hit us. After about 10 kilometers of terror, we found an exit. “So, was the highway your idea of a fun way home?” I yelled. He had the audacity to say, “We weren’t on the highway.” I told the story to a church friend who, incidentally, had heard about us on the radio. They were warning drivers, and I am pretty sure the police were on their way to apprehend us.
