I served in a small town on the east side of Puerto Rico. You could just feel the voodoo in the air. On the weekend evenings, the townsfolk would put an altar type of thing out on the porch stoop, with offerings of fresh fruits for the spirits. It is very humid in Puerto Rico, and fresh produce browns very quickly.
