“I was walking in the streets of Okinawa when this guy hopped off of his motorcycle, ran up to us and asked me, in Japanese, how to spell leprechaun in English. So I wrote it down'with the word potato as well'and he took off. I have no idea why. It wasn’t anywhere near St. Patrick’s Day. Another funny experience happened with my 6-foot-6, 300-pound Maori companion. We rode bikes everywhere, and in about three weeks he got into 15 accidents. I was like, ‘What is wrong with you? Let’s go!’ Eventually he told me he was blind in one eye. That explained a lot.
