The building that houses The Bay (404 S. West Temple) is one of the oldest nightclubs in Salt Lake City. Originally built by the Fraternal Order of the Eagles (the guys who invented Mother’s Day) in the late 1800s, the legendary digs once housed Vanilla Ice. Yeah, it’s that old. Anyway, in March, the owners of Club Jam took the reins and completely remodeled the joint, and now, The Bay is a clean, classy, nonalcoholic 18-and-over nightclub. Hey, there may not be booze, but there are plenty of energy drinks, hookahs and Bieber tunes. Saturdays are reserved for College Night, hosted by SLC staple DJ Jarvicous. Students get $2 off the cover charge with a student ID; otherwise, it’s $5 for ladies and $10 for guys. Eh, you won’t be buying any shots, so what difference does it make?
