The world of fantasy fiction might seem to outsiders like an interchangeable collection of mythical worlds and paperback covers featuring dragons and/ or buxom maidens. But, for more than 30 years, Terry Brooks has been setting the standards for the genre.
In 1977, Brooks’ The Sword of Shannara became the first fantasy novel ever to hit the New York Times bestsellers list. And, while the Shannara series established his bona fides, Brooks created a universe nearly as beloved with his Magic Kingdom of Landover series about the adventures of Chicago lawyer Ben Holiday after he buys a mystical realm.
Brooks returns to that world for the first time in 14 years with A Princess of Landover, as Ben’s daughter comes of age as a rebellious half-magical teen in our natural world. Join the author as he reads from and signs the new work this week, right here in the real world.
