If you take nothing else into your experience at W on Wednesday, it’s this: Ignore the hype and focus on the music.
It might seem obvious, but DJ Steve Aoki tends to cause quite a scenester stir wherever he sets up his trusty turntables. For some, Aoki is just the face of contemporary cool—an entrepre neur responsible for cutting-edge fashion and founder of Dim Mak records, home to MSTRKRFT, Bloc Party and Battles, among others. But the artist still loses himself in the music— and hopes you’ll do the same too.

DJ Steve Aoki @ W Lounge, 358 S. West Temple, Wednesday, Sept. 24, 9 p.m.
