If Utah mamas didn’t heed Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings’ advice and, in fact, let their babies grow up to be cowboys, they’ll probably be at the 11th annual Stampede Days, Tooele County’s only pro rodeo.

Originally a two-evening rodeo, Stampede Days has evolved into two full days of crafts, entertainment, pony rides, a petting zoo and more. There’ll be Mutton Bustin’ each night at 7 p.m., where, against the aformentioned sound advice, mamas let their pre-registered children try to ride sheep, not bulls. This community festival is more fun than a bucket of belt buckles.

Also, Friday is the “Tough Enough to Wear Pink” fundraiser for breast-cancer awareness. Ever seen a cowboy in pink chaps? The event concludes Saturday with a fireworks display. Bring the family for the smell of hay, for tasty cowboy eats and for all the Western lore your poor ears can handle.

Stampede Days @ Deseret Peak Complex, 2930 West Highway 112, Tooele, 435-843-4020, June 4 & 5, 8 p.m. $5-$10. DeseretPeakComplex.com/Stampede
