Did you lose grasp of the lingo after Gen X?

News flash: It’s up to Gen Y and Gen Z—those “Net Gen” kids in their second decade of life.

Spy Hop, a cutting-edge media arts education center, meets these techno-savvy kids on their own turf. The nonprofit organization has been recognized for innovative programs in a full range of tech areas, including radio, Web design and filmmaking. Yet, the practicality of Spy Hop’s contemporary offerings is balanced with the less tangible, though equally critical, benefits of a mentorship program that encourages youth to engage in the world, think critically and creatively, work collaboratively and develop their own authentic voices.

Spy Hop’s seventh annual PitchNic world premiere is featuring four outstanding films by student filmmakers—Brother of Mine, The Antagonist, Destination: SLC, and Brains. Come support a worthy cause and serve as witness to the genius of the end-of-alphabet generation.

PitchNic @ Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center, 138 W. 300 South, 801-355-ARTS, Nov. 11, 7 p.m. ArtTix.org
