With the ghosts of the election season leaving us, it’s time to give thanks to the do-gooders in our community. This weekend, you can take part in a vegan Thanksgiving dinner fundraiser to support the Ching Farm Rescue & Sanctuary. Later, give thanks to the anti-nuclear enviro-activists HEAL Utah at their fall fundraiser party. Then, it’s time to throw yourself back into it by checking out a busy interim day at the Legislature.

hearted folks of the Ching Farm Rescue & Sanctuary nonprofit, who take in abused and abandoned farm animals and give them a happy, healthy retirement. For $27 in advance or $30 at the door, you can take part in a vegan feast and a silent auction, and hear words from Nathan Runkle, founder of nonprofit Mercy for Animals. HEAL Utah Fall Party

Join HEAL Utah for its sixth-annual Fall Party as they rally the troops against the proposed Green River nuclear reactor, which activists say is getting ever closer to leaving a glowing, hot mess all over Utah’s pristine canyon country.
