Summer is the time when the locals take back Park City. Stellar dining and lodging deals abound—from the most high-rolling hotels and resorts to tiny bed-and-breakfasts. At most restaurants, two-for-one entrees are the order of the season, and you can find coupons in local newspapers, including City Weekly and the Park Record. So, if you don’t head to our own little “in Utah but not of it” ski town this season, I’m telling you, you’re missing out on some big time stay-cation fun.

On Saturday, June 19, the town’s restaurants will kick off the season with an event of grand proportions. It’s the third annual Savor the Summit—a big party with one long “Grande Table” right down the middle of Main Street. With a setting like that—under the sun and stars, each restaurant pulling out all the stops with special menus, cocktails, wine pairings, white tablecloths and gleaming stemware—it adds up to one magical evening, complete with live music.

You can reserve a place at any number of restaurant-sponsored tables, at prices ranging from $38 to $150 per person (wine or beverage pairings extra). Most of the enticing menus and pairings are posted on the Savor the Summit website, where you can find all the information you need for reservations.

But, you don’t have to go whole hog. Anyone can hang out for free, enjoy the party scene and move to the music. If you’re 21 or over, you can sip some fine wines or cocktails in the Spirit Garden.

The day kicks off at 4 p.m. with ongoing music on the Main Stage and at the Kimball Art Center. There’s a gallery stroll and pre-dinner events (including some classic people-watching) up and down the street.
