WINTER MARKET AT RIO GRANDE
We know winter is coming, even though there's no snow. But there's respite and fresh food from more than 60 local vendors at the Winter Market at Rio Grande. The market began its fourth season on Saturday, Nov. 5, and continues every other Saturday through April 22, 2017. Just in time for Thanksgiving are fresh locally raised turkeys. There's plenty for your holiday table: squash, onions, potatoes, carrots, beets and several varieties of greens. Many of the food and non-food products are unique to the market. Rio Grande Depot, 300 S. In late 2015, UFA board members began to grumble about the more than $100,000 in bonuses that were doled out without board approval to Jensen, Scott and a pair of other top UFA officials. Street, 801-328-5070, Saturday, Nov. 19, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., free, SLCFarmersMarket.org

SACRED EARTH DANCE
The Ragamala Dance Co. brings a transcendent evening of dance to Salt Lake City this weekend. The performance Sacred Earth explores the interconnectedness between human emotions and the environments that shape them. The dancers create a sacred space to honor the divinity in the natural world and the sustenance we derive from it. Kingsbury Hall, 1395 Presidents Circle, 801-581-7100, Saturday, Nov. 12, 7:30 p.m., $5-$30, Bit.ly/2fkbhIY

GLOBAL PEACE INITIATIVE
If Miss America wants world peace, why wouldn't you? And on a more serious note, why wouldn't you want to find out how to really make a difference and increase the level of love, prosperity and peace in the world? This is not just a lot of talk. Global Peace Initiative launches at the second World Parliament on Spirituality. This month, millions are expected to watch online and 2,000 to attend in person. The Peace Initiative will be announced and later implemented for years to come in collaboration with individuals and organizations worldwide. Kingsbury Hall, 1395 Presidents Circle, 801-768-1720, Thursday-Sunday, Nov. 17-20, see website for event schedule and pricing, WorldParliamentOnSpirituality.org
