Utah is full of grade-school girls (and boys) practicing for hours each week, dreaming of being a prima ballerina. But how can they really get a sense for what it means to be a professional dancer beyond wearing pretty costumes and standing gracefully en pointe?
Repertory Dance Theatre’s “wiggle-friendly” Ring Around the Rose Series provides a wonderful series of programs designed to get kids excited about the world of dance, movement, theater and music. This weekend, company members from Ballet West take the stage, both to delight youngsters with their abilities and to share the experience of dancing for a living. Expect a full house, so get your tickets early for an event that’s part of Ballet West’s Educational and Outreach programs. It’ll be tu-tu much fun for everyone.
