The holidays are known to spark a flurry of emotions, especially in the creative minds of writers and poets who look at the season for what it is and highlight the best and worst the weeks have to offer. Mo’s Neighborhood Grill will host those creative minds with another round of slam poetry, courtesy of Salt City Indie Arts.

SLC’s finest lyrical minds will be given three minutes and an open stage to present their best pieces for members of the all-ages audience, who act as judges and help award a cash prize to the winner. If you’ve ever wanted to find out what our poetry scene has to offer or see some of the best up-and-coming poets around, this is the event to check out. Those brave enough to compete or show off their skills can call Cody at 358-234-74310.

Put Your Mouth Where the Word Is @ Mo’s Neighborhood Grill, 358 S. West Temple, 801-359-0586, 8-11 p.m., $5
