This week, you can take part in a telephone town hall for candidates vying to represent the newly created 4th Congressional District. No matter what party you belong to, you can phone in and hear GOP candidates defend their position. On the weekend, enjoy dinner and an auction to help benefit a nonprofit that helps provide eye care to the developing world. Later, don’t miss a Salt Lake City Council meeting where the public is asked to weigh in on the city’s vision for developing arts and culture, as well as allocating federal grant money.

Thursday, March 22
The conservative Sutherland Institute think tank is hosting a telephone town hall for GOP candidates for the 4th Congressional District. Dial in to hear congressional candidates such as former legislator Carl Wimmer; Rep. Night for Sight
Saturday, March 24
The University of Utah’s Moran Eye Center is hosting its annual Night for Sight event at Snowbird Resort. For $100, you can eat dinner, partake in a charity auction and help bring the gift of sight to those in Third World countries who need basic eye care. Salt Lake City Council Meeting
Tuesday, March 27
Come to this week’s meeting to help the council adopt a resolution about the city’s position on arts and culture.
