Started in Japan, PechaKuchas have gained incredibly in international popularity, and this version will be the fourth go-round in Utah. The concept is fairly simple: 10 invited presenters share 20 slides of their work and discuss each one for 20 seconds, as the attending social milieu is sparked into a stimulating and effectively contextualized discussion. Volume 4 will see presenters as diverse as an archeological historian, a film- and television-production designer, an inventor, several painters, muralists, photographers and designers. There will also be an intermission dance performance of “Touching Fire,” choreographer Charlotte Boye-Christensen’s collaboration with architect Nathan Webster and writer David Kranes. Deejaying will be by Jesse Walker, and drinks will certainly be served.
