The Revolt has long associated the zombie apocalypse with the modern decline of civilization—when apathetic citizens no longer care about using their brains unless it is to find something to snack on. But this week, you can get zombiefied for a good cause and take part in an undead charity run to benefit cancer research. You also won’t want to miss a fundraising dinner to help build schools in the African nation of Mali and a locavore potluck.

Night of the Running Dead
Saturday, Oct. 9
It’s time to test out your cardio in this dry run for the zombie apocalypse. For this 5K run/walk, sign up as a human or a zombie. Zombie participants should come to the race wearing their best undead garb and be willing to chase the humans. Human participants will get a one-minute head start before the undead chase their brains down. Registration is $25 in advance or $30 the day of, with proceeds to benefit the Huntsman Cancer Research Foundation.
