I read with interest your story about the Canyon Inn [“In Your Face,” April 28, City Weekly]. I have many happy memories of times spent there. For at least a decade, that was where you would find me every Tuesday night and on Mondays during the football season.

I have no doubt that Jim and the other business owners there are being subjected to pressure to sell to the big developers.

I did quit frequenting the Canyon Inn in this time frame. However, it was not because of police harassment—it was because Jim and Kim made the decision to quit serving real food. I can eat frozen pizza at home. I do still miss the Buffalo wings—they were the best in the valley—and the Tuesday-night special.

Editor’s note: The Canyon Inn, when asked about its food offerings, responded as follows:

Here at the Canyon Inn pizza kitchen, we offer a range of delicious food items from our thin-crust, Chicago-style pizza to our popper pie and signature salads. We make our pizza dough and sauces right on the premises to ensure quality and freshness. The goal still remains to provide our customers with the highest-quality pizza and food at a fair price.

If you loved our wings, you will want to try our Buffalo-chicken salad. It’s to die for.
