What's your strongest musical memory?

Derek Carlisle: Coming down the mountain on skis for the first time at Brighton with “Mountain Song” by Jane’s Addiction blarin’ on the Sony Sportsman tape deck.

Elly Green: My family loves music. It’s only fitting that my daughter Sadie is a dancer. At only 2 years old, she has choreographed all her favorite songs. We have dance parties on a nightly basis.

Kolbie Stonehocker: My favorite concert ever was the Murder by Death show at Bar Deluxe last summer. During the spooky “Dynamite Mine,” one of the band members played a theremin that he had rigged to shoot off sparks, and it was freaking awesome.

Kathy Mueller: Being deflowered to the sweet sounds of the INXS’ Shabooh Shoobah album.

Bryan Bale: When I was about 7, my favorite song was “Okie From Muskogee” by Merle Haggard. I listened to it so much that it wore out the tape (or perhaps my father’s patience), and he had to throw it away.

Pete Saltas: My dad has been playing “Mr. Bojangles” on the guitar since I was a pup. Every time I hear it, it reminds me of him.

Susan Kruithof: I had a rough breakup and remember listening to The Beatles’ “I’m Looking Through You.” It hit the nail on the head—how everything you thought you knew about a person could change overnight. “You don’t look different/ But you have changed/ I’m looking through you/ You’re not the same.”

Colin Wolf: I once ate an entire 12-pack of original-flavored Bubble Yum while listening to Rancid's ... And Out Come the Wolves. Now whenever I hear ska music, I can taste gum.
