As the weather warms, Utahns’ attentions turn to the kind of communal activities that find us sharing our love of art, food, music … and, sometimes, all of the above. The Millcreek Spring Arts Festival offers one of the season’s first opportunities for such collective merriment.
Located in the historic Baldwin Radio factory, the Flynn Artipelago/Millcreek Artspace studios have become an east-side hub for music, art and craft studios. Local artists will be opening up many of those studios this weekend to display recent works, including mixed-media artist Stephanie St. Thomas, painter Laurel Hart and custom furniture designers Chris and Craig Timm. Joining the “regulars” will be guest artists, including David Koch—whose murals reside in the Utah Capitol and who will be teaching a workshop during the festival—and dozens of others displaying their work outdoors.
Get to know some of your talented friends and neighbors in a venue you may never have visited before.
