Midnight Comedy Mayhem

Weary of performing at local watering holes where their responses are as watered-down as denizens sometimes complain the drinks are—and also of opening for headliners with only five minutes to warm up the crowd—a group of local stand-up comics has decided to take matters into their own hands. “Midnight Comedy Mayhem” starts near midnight and will run into the wee hours of the next day, thus allowing the five comics a generous allotment of time to get into their comedic rhythm—or at least fire off one or two jokes that get a guffaw.

Seriously, folks, these comics—Cody Eden, Adam Thomas Pritchard, Patrick Flaherty, Aaron Burrell and the duo “Toy Soup”—have been seasoned by the local stand-up circuit. Their inspiration comes from depression, ADHD and working for the government, so it’s a safe bet that their wellspring of angst will provide some “comedy gold,” as they say in show biz.

Midnight Comedy Mayhem @ Tower Theatre, 435-731-0410, 9th South & 9th East, Saturday March 7, 11:55 p.m.
