No Joke: April Fools’ Party
Club Manhattan (5 E. 400 South) has been seeing a noticeable increase in activity of late thanks to better booking and a revitalized block. Their upcoming “April Fools Bash” features hometown electro-heroes Muscle Hawk. MSTRSHREDDER, Typefunk and NAWM will be performing, as well, making the $5 cover perfectly justified—no joke! Doors at 9 p.m.

Teaserz Revamped
Beer prices at an all-time low and college energy at an all-time high make for a great new night at one of Ogden’s more excitingly booked clubs (366 36th Street, Ogden). DJs Latu and Eflexx “battle” every other week at this club that is starting to make a bigger dent in the Ogden crowd’s consciousness. With basement prices for college-student budgets, this night won’t be too unofficially unknown for long.

Pole Dancing: Making a Habit
Ladies Night at this suburban bar (832 E. 3900 South) gets more wild than its downtown counterparts with free pole-dance instruction, courtesy of aerial artists Lauren Young and Hope McCurdy Tuesday nights. Club Matters is glad to say that some of the moves performed at Habits are better than some found in local, ahem, “adult” clubs— take note, wannabe dancers. Habits still has other exciting nights like their regularly packed Fridays and Saturdays—drawing a big crowd from the bench and the valley—but Tuesday night’s attraction of ladies climbing up 15-foot poles and “suicide diving” down may take the cake in terms of pure, almost deadly, eye confection.

Dead Club Rising
Andy’s (479 E. 300 South) recently closed its doors, but rumors—and obvious signs of construction inside—speak of more future revelry from this location. Dick ’n Dixie’s is the name of the spot. The more bars in Salt Lake City, the merrier. Details as they develop.
