Old & New Madrid
As the finishing touches are being put on the gorgeous, all-new
Café Madrid on Highland Drive, owner Gabrielle McAfee and her family and staff are celebrating the move with various specials at the original location (2080 E. 3900 South, pictured) for this final month. “Moving out” specials include half-price sangria, free wine corkage and a complimentary daily tapa. Before the new, they invite you to stop by and say goodbye to the old. The new Café Madrid will be open for early-morning coffee and pastries, lunch and dinner. Visit CafeMadrid.net or phone 801-273-0837 for more information.

Silver Specials
The glitzy
Silver restaurant (508 Main) in Park City has launched “Thank You Thursdays,” where guests can enjoy featured selections on Thursdays in a three-course prix fixe dinner for $30 per person (normally $60), tax and gratuity not included. On Thursdays, there are also handcrafted cocktails, a discounted bar menu and a house DJ spinning discs. In addition, Silver is now open for Sunday brunch, featuring an a la carte menu, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Chile Fest

The eighth-annual Chile Fest is currently under way at
Z’Tejas (191 S. Rio Grande St.) in The Gateway through Sept. 25. This year’s Chile Fest will benefit the University of Utah’s Burn Trauma ICU, with $1 from each Chile Fest menu entree purchased being donated to send burn survivors to Burn Camp, an annual program that supports burn survivors and helps them cope with the many challenges—personal, physical and emotional—that come after a severe burn. The main attraction at Z’Tejas’ Chile Fest is fresh Hatch New Mexico chiles, prepared in a variety of ways. Featured menu items include prickly-pear-glazed meatballs, ancho trout with green-chile aioli, green-chile carne guisada, chicken tinga rellenos with green-chile sauce, and flash-fried chile and onion rings. For additional Chile Fest information and reservations, call 801-456-0450 or visit ZTejas.com.
