Got a hunch that someone on the other side of the Great Unknown is trying to get a message to you by speaking through subtle and not-so-subtle coincidences that must be more than coincidences?

In the vein of other well-known mediums like John Edward and Sylvia Browne, Lisa Williams translates spirit messages from the dead in her traveling show Messages From Beyond. She receives and interprets communications from those who have passed over, who have a connection with audience members. Consider, for instance, how quirky cousin Beth might want to let you know that she’s been trying to get your attention by first leaving well-placed pennies by your feet before resorting to dropping them on your toes. Or, how Great-Grandpa Jim wants to tell you he’s catching rainbow trout and drinking brewskies on Cloud 9.

Williams’ psychic credentials are varied. They include two TV shows (Life Among the Dead and Voices from the Other Side) and appearances on Deal or No Deal, America’s Psychic Challenge, Oprah, Good Morning America, Larry King Live, and Jimmy Kimmel Live! Williams also maintains that she has communicated with a plethora of deceased celebrities and cultural icons, including Marilyn Monroe, Ray Charles, Natalie Wood, Bob Hope and Princess Diana.

Believers and some fence-sitters will glean comfort from targeted transmissions from the heavenly realms that suggest the soul survives death and loved ones who have crossed over are still around us—while hard-core skeptics and jaded nonbelievers best stay home.

Lisa Williams: Messages From Beyond @ Capitol Theatre, 50 W. 200 South, 801- 323-6800, July 17, 7 p.m. $35.50-$65.50, ArtTix.org
