On any given Saturday night when you walk into Liquid Joe’s (1249 E. 3300 South), Loverboy’s “Working For the Weekend” will more than likely be stuck in your head—not just because you love ’80s music and you’re pumped that you’re not at work, but because The Spazmatics are onstage. If you haven’t peeped this ’80s cover band, then you’re blowin’ it. Their shtick is simple: Dress up like nerds, crack some jokes and then slay the soundtrack to The Wedding Singer. Seriously, I haven’t seen this many people getting down to ’80s music since … well, the ’80s. With a nice sound system, hookah service and cheap drinks like $5 Long Islands and AMFs (Adios Motherf—kers), this Millcreek dance club will definitely make everybody Wang Chung.
