Pool Season: The Bay
Summer took its damned time getting here, but at least it finally did. Summer to me means two things: skimpily clad hardbodies and margaritas. Sometimes, you’re lucky enough to get both in one place. The Bay’s pool is open and ready for action every Saturday at 1 p.m. That’s right, a Vegas-style experience off of West Temple (at 404 South) in SLC—who knew? Wear your shorts and flippy floppies with pride after you’ve done a few crunches and reward your hard work with some liquid calories.

Getting Heavy: Heavygrinder
DJ Heavygrinder, one of the cutest DJs on the scene right now, is coming back to town for an Ultra Saturdays set at Club Elevate. Her dub-house fusion will blow your ears and provide plenty of reason for your own heavy grinding on June 25. Tickets are $10; get them at 24Tix.com. The opening set is by DJ Supa Mario. The show is at 9 p.m., and you have to be 21 or older.

The No Name Special
James Haskell didn’t have any particular drink in mind when we stopped by Junior’s (30 E. Broadway) in 2010 and asked him if he made a “specialty” drink we could crib for Club Matters. That’s because he doesn’t really consider a drink he concocted to be “special”—it doesn’t even have a name, technically. This year, he pulled out of his hat a summertime libation he invented a while ago. It doesn’t have a name, so we’ve dubbed it “Junior’s No Name.” Try it at home for your own enjoyment or sip one on Junior’s patio—the perfect downtown spot.

Junior’s No Name recipe:
1 oz. Malibu rum
1 oz. rum flavor
1 dash cranberry sugar
Squeeze of lime
3 oz. cranberry juice
2 oz. grapefruit juice
Shake in tumbler with ice
