I grew up with Jose Hernandez [“Dead End,” Nov. 11, City Weekly]. I knew him when he was in a gang. I knew him as a person, probably in other ways people didn’t know him. We lived in the same apartment complexes. I dated him for a bit, but we realized our friendship was way too important to ever ruin.
I’m so saddened by this news. I would love to hear from someone who knew him. And in any way if I can help, please let me know. I still do believe strongly that his dream will come true.
