I Do!
OK, let’s say you’ve just been sealed in the temple. Congratulations. Your wedding day would be complete … if only you’d been given the gift of The I Do Cookbook for the Bride & Groom by Celia Jolley and Judy Williams.

Everything the newlywed wife needs to know to make her man happy (in the kitchen, that is) is here: recipes for artichoke dip, cheese balls and “party” root beer. There are recipes for white wedding cake and white wedding cake frosting (wait—I thought you were already married).

Company potatoes, chili dogs (how freakin’ dense do you have to be to need a recipe for chili dogs?), pigs in a blanket, scones, fry sauce … it’s all here in glorious living color. Yup, there’s actually a frysauce photo. In the foreword, the authors write, “When our Prince Charmings came along, we married them and then … we cooked!” I think that pretty much sums up his cookbook’s gestalt, published by Gibson Heritage, LLC of Park City. Buy it online at IDoCook.com.

You Will!
Up in South Ogden, you will learn how to cook from an Italian master. Chef Elio Scanu, owner of Zucca Trattoria, is now offering cooking classes on Tuesday nights at Zucca. Each two-hour class costs $35 per person, with additional wine pairings and wine education also available. Upcoming class topics include: The Antipasto Table (Feb. 24), Mediterranean Cooking—Spain to Greece (March 3), Country Cooking—Trattoria Style (March 10), and The Righteous Rice—Risotto (March 17). The latter might make an interesting diversion from Guinness and corned beef on St. Patrick’s Day. You can register for classes online at MyZucca.com or phone 801-475-7077. Zucca Trattoria is at 1479 E. 5600 South in South Ogden.
