How Do We Know We're Legal?

I should like to add my two cents to this Arizona immigration bill.

First, do we need to make our birth certificates wallet-size and then carry them with us in order to prove to the authorities that we are legal residents? I was born in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., but I can’t prove that because my state ID card does not give place of birth, and the card says the Social Security number is not needed.

Also, shame on you, Russell Pearce, a “devout Mormon,” for causing problems for Mormon missionaries, who are having doors slammed in their faces by members of the Arizona Latino community. Double shame on you for causing these people to want to leave the LDS Church, and triple shame on you if, the next time I come to Arizona, the police ask me questions about my status.
