Too many entertainment options for your Saturday night? Well, you don’t really have to choose at all if you just check out Hodgepodge at The Complex. With a variety of performances in one cabaret-style revue, it’s bound to be a crowd-pleaser.

So, at Hodgepodge with Blake Bard you’ll get some comedy, some musical improv by Mark Probert and Shawn Zumbrunnen of HiJinks Improv, and a little burlesque because, hey, so long as there’s booze, there might as well be a little (artsy and socially acceptable) T&A. We’re all adults here, right?

The comics will be Bard and Levi Rounds, City Weekly Artys award nominee and winner for 2010, respectively. Also taking the mic will be Cody Edens. He’s not so bad, himself.

The comedy stylings will skew toward the Louis C.K./David Cross end of the spectrum. There will be vitriol and naughty words and likely a dearth of puppets and mother-in-law jokes. You’ve been warned.

Satine La Rouge of the Voodoo Darlings (pictured) will also take the stage. Her retro style and contemporary attitude make for a scintillating brand of burlesque nouveau, based on the vaudevillian tradition of risqué exotic dance.

The Complex is Salt Lake City’s newest collection of venues, serving a variety of audiences just west of the The Gateway on the edge of downtown. Though The Complex caters to all ages and adult crowds alike, Hodgepodge will be a most definitely over-21 affair.
