We would like to thank City Weekly for the news coverage of the Kenyon Eastin story in Tooele [“Justice Starved,” June 10, City Weekly]. We are a group of concerned citizens and parents who recognize the need for shared parenting in divorce cases vs. a traditional custodial/non-custodial setup. We feel that shared parenting would not only truly be in the best interest of the child, but if parents had shared parenting from the start of a divorce, it would help to eliminate a horrible abuse of children known as “parental alienation,” and make other laws unnecessary.

If Kenyon Eastin had shared parenting with his ex-wife, he would have been able to spend the past month parenting his children instead of suffering in debtor’s prison.

We are extremely grateful that City Weekly took the time to share a story. It is one out of thousands that go on everyday unrecognized by our society. Many parents and children experience a tragedy of this nature on a day-to-day basis.
