EVE: eBay It Forward

Dec. 29-30

The Christmas spirit didn’t have to end on Dec. 25. If you’re feeling charitable during all the pre-New Year’s festivities, might we suggest you make your way to the eBay It Forward exhibit as part of this year’s EVE celebration. Bring in an item you cherished during 2010 with a short story about it to Hall D of the Salt Palace and choose one of three local nonprofit organizations the proceeds will go to: The Huntsman Cancer Foundation, Best Friends Animal Society, or Volunteers of America Utah Youth Homeless Resource Center. Those items will be auctioned off on eBay on Jan. 3.

Every 50th donor will receive a jacket and a chance to win a $100 gift card. And if you represent a local business, eBay will also accept new items or gifts and services from your company to go on the auction block. On Dec. 31, you can bid on a special auction containing several prize packages, the proceeds of which also will go to the above organizations. Auction items include shoes autographed by the Jazz’s Andrei Kirilenko, a one-year supply of Coca-Cola products, a night at Hotel Monaco, tickets to Broadway Across America’s Les Miserables, four tickets to a Real Salt Lake game, a night at Sundance Resort and two nights at Sun Valley Resort, among others.
