Emotional maturity and academic excellence is not the same thing [“Sloughing School With Buttars,” Rant Control, Feb. 25, City Weekly]. Kids might have straight A’s in all the advanced classes, but that doesn’t mean they are grown-up enough to handle the social challenges of college and being away from home for the first time.
