Re: “Dabakis’ Decision

Salt Lake's Mayor race has nothing to do with being a sissy or jumping in water. I imagine that Dabakis is referring to the Great Salt Lake. Of course, there's not so much water left in the Great Salt Lake. Not any more.
Salt Lake's Mayor race is about money. Lots and piles of money. Whomever can raise loads of that aforementioned money gets to play at candidacy. I'm curious to know if Jimmy plans to convert. You know, to that monied 'religion' that holds ALL of the cards for Utah and by extension, Salt Lake City. I didn't even use the 'M' word. I didn't need to. Not really.
Any way, good luck Jimmy and let us all wave bye bye to Mayor Biskupcake. Good old Jackie leaves one missing Mayor Sparky all the more.

Re: “'We See Errors in the Initiative Passed by the Will of the People'

Gosh and what a surprise, the Legislature overturns the will of Utah's people. Utah's Legislature needs to rename themselves The Wholly Quorum of the 104 Specialized Souls That Can And Do Run Utah The Mormon Way.

Re: “The Precarious Plan for the Lake Powell Pipeline

If and or when such a 'pipeline' is built, will there be any water left in Lake Powell? An impertinent question and I can admit that. The water that ponds in Lake Powell is over allocated as is the water in Lake Mead and all the way down the Colorado River. Just you ask the federal Bureau of Reclamation. Ask the Bureau about the Colorado River Compact.
One serious drought is strangling the western U.S. of A. and the little water that empties into Lake Powell won't last long enough to do more than tease a growing and thirsty St. George and it's rampant growth and demands on very skimpy water resources.
A 'pipeline' from Lake Powell is a delirious pipe dream being sold the good folk living in and around St. George. Maybe the State of Utah could devise a plan to turn red sand into potable water. I'd bet the St. Georgians would buy into that.

Re: “No Compromise

Utah's grand Legislature WILL gut Proposition 2. That much is a 'mormon' given. It is perfectly acceptable to rat me out to the 'prophet' for my use of the 'mormon' mannerism. However and, praise the lord, West Wendover, Nevada has okie-dokied the use of recreational marijuana and West Wendover will open up a recreational dispensary sometime in the summer of 2019. Unless and of course that is, the Danites don't descend on West Wendover with the sole intention of rubbing the Nevada heathen and dope smoking cretins off the face of Mother Earth. We shall see what comes to pass.
Utah's 'Danites' would do all Utahns a favor if they descended on Utah's Capital Hill and rubbed the Legislature off the face of Mother Earth. I'm not advocating the use of any violence on Utah Legislators, nope. Just scrub the ignorant if not silly fools, with some lye soap and that would be enough for now.
In the very least, a 'Danite' action up at the old "Legislature" might help the bozos understand the will of the people. Proposition 2 passed by a majority of Utah voters. Wow and go figure.

Re: “Locked & Loaded

Sheriff Rosie can't "comment." That would mean she's got nothing to say. Sheriff Rosie just got herself a fresh 4 years to not comment on jailhouse deaths and Sim Gill will have Rosie's back. A damn fine system Salt Lake County has for itself.
Of course if you don't do the crime, you won't have to do the time. Or get killed in the process.

Re: “Dying and Living in Utah

Bravo and thank you Mr. Kane. Coming close to the end of days and this is important news. One thing is for certain, life flashes by so fast it's amazing how fast it passes. Almost in a blink. Anyway, this is helpful information. It's come to the point where that last great transition becomes an adventure in the unknown.

Re: “Oasis Lost

This is Utah and the only thing the land is good for is development, highways, mining, oil and gas exploitation, rape, and the occasional wildfire. The loss of wetlands around the Great Salt Lake will be felt by our grandchildren not yet raised or born. Oh well. Use the land wisely? Not a chance in legislative hell.
