Canyon Inn: DJ Knucklz Thursdays
DJ Knucklz spins every Thursday night at The Canyon Inn (3700 E. 7000 South Fort Union Blvd.) on the east bench. Snow bros of the two- and one-plank variety can’t get their fill of Knucklz’s special blend. He’s got reggae, house and hip-hop to draw on and he’ll pull it out on the unsuspecting crowd. But a word of warning: He doesn’t play music to hold up the walls.

The Metro: New Club In Orbit
The old Orbit restaurant (540 W. 200 South) was a favorite haunt for those of us in the late-night business. The building has housed various enterprises in its past life, including a part of Salt Lake City’s old red light district. It will open a new chapter as the boys from Club Edge transform it into The Metro. We’ll keep you posted on official opening party and general lineup information.

Beer in The Beehive: Beerhive
The Beerhive Pub (128 S. Main) took some time, but is finally starting to rival the Bayou down the road with its beer selection. Del Vance’s latest excursion in “beer in the beehive” has paid off, as he’s finally amassed a beer pub-worthy collection. Due to wack laws regarding beer in Utah, it takes purchases of whole pallets to get just one variety, and it took hundreds of pallets to get the current selection you’ll see. An iced bar, tons of beer and good service mean you should give the Hive a shot if you haven’t before.

Mardi Gras: Green Street
Mardi Gras is known for being super-classy, and Green Street (602 E. 500 South), being super-classy itself, is ready for its Friday, Feb. 4, celebration to kick off the season. They tell us they have tons of beads, so start the diet now to make sure you’re flash-worthy.
