I’ve mentioned more than once in these pages that my very favorite Salt Lake City pizzeria is Settebello (260 S. 200 West, Settebelo.net), which features über-authentic Napolitano-style pizza. But before Settebello there was Este Pizza Company, which was destroyed by fire about two years ago. Well, I am very happy to report that Este is back! The original Sugar House location recently reopened, and you can also look forward to a new downtown Este pizzeria coming soon. This is hands-down the best NYC-style pizza in town. And I say that even though, as a proud card-carrying member of Red Sox Nation, I get zero respect from the Yankee-loving Este owner. Still, I gotta give him props for his pizza—it’s that good. Este Pizza Company is located at 2021 S. Windsor St. (840 E.), and its phone is 485-3699. (A new downtown location is slated to open this summer.) Visit online at EstePizzaCompany.com.

I’ve also mentioned my affection for the pizza at Little Italy in Sandy (9284 S. 700 East, 255-0363). I just learned that Little Italy has partnered with Elfie’s Organic Farm in Layton and according to Little Italy owner Kathy Galati, they will be using local, organic, in-season produce in the restaurant “in an effort to give our customers the very best.” Galati informs me that Elfie’s even plans to grow organic escarole so the luscious Wedding Soup at Little Italy will be truly authentic!

Quote of the week: There’s a pizza place near where I live that sells only slices. In the back you can see a guy tossing a triangle in the air. —Steven Wright
