On June 26, the first Utah location of El Pollo Loco will open its doors in Lehi. I’ve eaten often at West Coast El Pollo Locos, famous for their citrus-marinated flame-grilled chicken served with warm tortillas and fresh salsas, which are prepared fresh each day. The menu also features good tacos al carbon and tasty tortilla soup. The restaurant chain’s first location was founded in Guasave, Mexico, in 1975. El Pollo Loco will be open daily 9 a.m.–11 p.m. at 88 N. State Street in Lehi. (ElPolloLoco.com)

If you prefer your Mexican food a little les franchise-y, check out the newly opened Tiburon Grill. The owner is Diego Lopez, who from 1994-1998 ran one of my all-time favorite Salt Lake City Mexican eateries, Cenaduria Mexico. The Tiburon Grill is located at 919 S. State, conveniently located right next to The Republican.

Eighty-nine dollars for dinner for two might not seem like much of a bargain. But at Ruth’s Chris Steak House prices, it is. For $89, Ruth’s Chris’ Summer Celebration for Two gets you and someone special a three-course meal beginning with soup or a salad, an entrée choice from a selection of five, including chicken, fresh fish and Ruth’s Chris signature beef filet, along with a house-made dessert. Utah Ruth’s Chris Steak House locations are in downtown Salt Lake City at 134 Pierpont Ave. (phone 366-4000), and in Park City at 2001 Park Ave. (phone 435-940-50700). Or visit RuthsChris.com.

Fratelli Ristorante in Sandy has introduced a new spring/summer menu, which includes grilled yellow fin tuna and citrus pesto, heirloom tomato panzanella and house-made ricotta and Romano cheese-stuffed ravioli with pomodoro sauce. Fratelli Ristorante is located in the Quarry Bend Shopping Center in Sandy. It’s the perfect place to sip Limoncello in summer. Phone 495-4550 or visit FratelliUtah.com.
