In 1954, Alfred Hitchcock turned Frederick Knott’s stage play into a 3-D suspense film. It was typically impressive work by the Master of Suspense, yet Knott’s story has always seemed more suited to the intimate confines of a theatrical stage. Nothing leaps out at you—except the talent of the actors.

Pioneer Theater Company returns Dial “M” for Murder to its roots, re-visiting the story of a playboy ex-tennis pro named Tony (Fletcher MacTaggart) who has been living the high thanks to his heiress wife Margot (Amy Tribbey). And that high life will be sure to continue if Tony can succeed in his plan to murder Margot. If only Margot would cooperate and die quietly …
