DD&D @ Moochie’s
Moochie’s Meatballs & More! owner Joanna Rendi tells me that Moochie’s is celebrating its sixth anniversary, having recently been featured on Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives. In addition to good meatball and cheesesteak sandwiches and great potato salad, you can pick up copies of Guy Fieri’s More Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives at Moochie’s for $19.95. The book features Moochie’s, Red Iguana, Lone Star Taqueria and Pat’s BBQ, in addition to other eateries around the country. 232 E. 800 South, 801-596-1350, MoochiesMeatballs.com

Parisian Thanksgiving
The Paris restaurant opened eight years ago on Thanksgiving Day, and is continuing the tradition this year of taking Thanksgiving dinner reservations for seatings from 4-9 p.m. The menu, with a focus on indigenous foods, includes a prelude of wild chanterelle mushroom flatbread followed by roasted pumpkin and caramel apple soup and pumpkin seed mesclun salad. The main course is Utah Wight Family Farms free-range turkey roti with accoutrements such as roasted sweet potatoes and yams, cauliflower and Brussels sprouts gratin, and cranberry compote with candied oranges and maple-glazed pecans, followed by a choice of desserts. Thanksgiving dinner at The Paris is $44.95 per person and $19.95 for children under 12. 1500 S. 1500 East, 801-486-5585, TheParis.net

Birds, Bees & Bones
On Nov. 21, from 6-9 p.m. at Ogden’s Union Station, Roosters, Beehive Cheese Company and Soul &  Bones restaurant will host the fourth annual Birds, Bees & Bones event to benefit the Ronald McDonald House. Guests are invited to sample award-winning cheeses from Beehive, Roosters’ brews and sodas, and barbecue from Soul & Bones, plus live music. Tickets are $35 and will benefit Ogden Regional Medical Center’s Ronald McDonald Family Room. Purchase tickets at Beehive, Roosters or Soul & Bones or online at BeehiveCheese.com or RoostersBrewingCo.com.

Quote of the week: I celebrated Thanksgiving in an old-fashioned way. I invited everyone in my neighborhood to my house, we had an enormous feast, and then I killed them and took their land.— Jon Stewart
