By the time this article makes it to print, Dane Cook’s new stand-up special Isolated Incident will have aired and his new album by the same name will have hit stores, thus fulfilling a contractual four-album obligation Cook had with Comedy Central. The TV special features Cook performing unannounced at random comedy clubs to Tuesday-night crowds of about 20 people. It’s all about how he had to get back to basics after losing both of his parents to cancer in the same year. The tugging of the heartstrings is paired with some of the most off-color and vulgar material he’s ever performed.

He’s been gearing up for his new release with live performances since late April, calling it his “Global Thermo” tour. If you’re the kind of person who likes spoilers, just head on over to YouTube, where most of his new show is already up in all its shaky camera-phone glory. While Isolated Incident probably won’t achieve the double-platinum status his previous CD Rough Around the Edges did, it’ll still do well enough to keep Cook in the hearts and minds of frat guys and co-eds for another year or so.
