8. June 1989: The Private Eye announces cross-media promotional campaign with new, upstart alternative radio personality Rush Limbaugh.

7. September 1991: Private Eye rock critic declares grunge “the future of music” and “too big to fail.”

6. [Redacted as per then-attorney Rocky Anderson]

5. May 1997: Between switching titles from Private Eye Weekly to Salt Lake City Weekly, the paper tries out The Pearl of No Price for a week.

4. December 1999: City Weekly fires all employees and publishes combination end-of-the-year/end-of-the-world issue, “Y2K: So Long, Suckers!”

3. April 2004: City Weekly stops printing profanity. Except in some cases. And other instances. Or the rare occasion. This rock-solid policy remains in place today.

2. August 2005: City Weekly ceases running alt-weekly staple comic Life In Hell. Five years later, someone notices.

1. June 2010: City Weekly publishes 25th anniversary issue 52 weeks late.
